Free agency update — One month later

By calendar date, anyway, tomorrow marks one month since the beginning of the free agency signing period.

So I figured another overview of where things stand with the Seahawks is in order.

First, though, a quick recap.

Seattle had 15 unrestricted free agents. The Seahawks re-signed five (listed below), saw eight sign with other teams (also listed below) with two still unsigned.

Seattle, meanwhile, signed three unrestricted free agents (also listed below) and also cut three of its own players, seeing two sign with other teams, with one still unsigned.

Now, on to the recap:

Cap Space update

As reported by the NFLPA, the Seahawks have salary cap room of $14.29 million. As this is written, only eight teams have more cap space than Seattle.

Seahawks roster moves

Re-signed by Seahawks:

DE Michael Bennett (4 years, $28.5 million, $10 million  guaranteed)

TE Anthony McCoy (1 year, $1.35 million, all guaranteed)

DT Tony McDaniel (2 years, $5.75 million, $1.25 million guaranteed)

QB Tarvaris Jackson (1 year, $1.25 million, all guaranteed)

PK Steven Hauschka (3 years, $9.15 million, $3.35 million guaranteed)

Signed by other teams:

WR Golden Tate, Detroit (5 years, $31 million, $10.5 million guaranteed)

DT Clinton McDonald, Tampa Bay (4 years, $12 million, $4.75 million guaranteed)

S Chris Maragos, Philadelphia (3 years, $4.05 million, $1.5 million guaranteed)

OT Breno Giacomini, New York Jets (4 years, $18 million, $7 million guaranteed)

CB Brandon Browner, New England (3 years, $17 million, $1 million guarantee, the base salary for 2014)

CB Walter Thurmond,  New York Giants (1 year, $3.5 million, $2 million guaranteed, which included a $1 million signing bonus)

OL Paul McQuistan, Cleveland (1 year, $1.395 million, $750,000 guaranteed)

TE Kellen Davis, New York Giants (1 year, $795,000, $15,000 guaranteed)

Players cut since end of season:

DE Chris Clemons (signed with Jacksonville, 4 years, $17.5 million, $4.475 million guaranteed)

DT Red Bryant (signed with Jacksonville, 4 years, $19 million, $5.255 million guaranteed)

WR Sidney Rice (unsigned, but sources continue to say that he could end up re-signing with the Seahawks. One thought is that Rice is waiting to see if he gets any offers better than Seattle’s, which would certainly be for a pretty low rate).

Free agents signed by Seahawks:

WR Taylor Price (one year, $570,000, no guarantee, has to make team to be paid)

OL Stephen Schilling (one year, $640,000, no guarantee)

CB Phillip Adams (one year, no other details)

Unsigned Seahawks free agents:

FB Michael Robinson (at this point, probably a longshot to be back with Seahawks)

LB O’Brien Schofield (initially signed with Giants but deal nullified because of concerns Giants had about his knee after his physical. However, reports this week state he visited the Titans and passed a physical and could sign with Tennessee soon).
