Friday links: Sherman to attend White House Correspondents’ dinner

This is an evening that I doubt Richard Sherman will think  is med-i-o-cre.

The Seahawks cornerback has been invited to attend the White House Correspondents’ Dinner this weekend, a guest of the Huffington Post (invitee list here).

The event tends to always have a somewhat eclectic group of attendees, and others on the list include Cam Newton, Tony Romo, Lindsey Vonn and Rick Springfield, who figures to tell everyone not to talk  to strangers.

Sherman will have another trip to Washington D.C. sometime soon when the Seahawks make their trip to the White House to be honored as Super Bowl champs (no details on that yet, though).

IN OTHER NEWS. …

— A couple of Seahawks participating in “Men in Kilts” (better them then sportwriters, that’s for sure).

— A rare Russell Wilson Texas Rangers’ baseball card is turning out to be a hot seller.

— Details near the bottom of this story on Marshawn Lynch’s recent birthday celebration.

— The Boston Globe rates three of Seattle’s recent draft classes among the top 10 in the NFL since 2004.

— Good stuff here (about midway through) on Seattle’s Cover 3 alignment.
