Seahawks sign cornerback A.J. Jefferson

Looks like the Seahawks have signed free agent cornerback A.J. Jefferson, who spent the last four years with the Cardinals and Vikings before being released by Minnesota late last season.

Jefferson visited Seattle late last month — I had details on that, as well as his background, here.

As noted then, Jefferson is being brought in to compete as a backup corner, and then likely as a returner, where Seattle needs someone to fill in for the vacated Golden Tate as a punt returner.

By my count, Seattle now has 73 players on its roster. Teams can have 90 when training camp begins.

UPDATE — Jefferson also just posted this to his Instagram page.
