The NFL Draft in Seattle? Not out of the possibility

The NFL Draft in Seattle?

It could happen, though there’s a few steps that have to take place first.

Still, an NFL spokesman says Seattle is one of the cities that has shown interest in hosting the NFL Draft should the league decide to move it around.

The New York Post reported earlier today that seven cities had shown interest in hosting the draft should the league decide to move it, which could happen as early as next year.

The Post said New Orleans, Boston, Philadelphia, Orlando, Chicago and Los Angeles as well as Canton, Ohio have also reported interest in hosting the draft.

But the league later Tweeted  that “close to a dozen” cities had shown interest in hosting the draft, and a spokesman confirmed that Seattle was among them. (But this is really early in the process and details such as where it would be held and all that are unclear).

The Post reported that the draft could be moved because NFL is “tired of continued waffling from Radio City Music Hall” over whether the venue would be available to host the NFL Draft in 2015. The Draft was moved back two weeks this year due to a scheduled Rockettes show which ended up being postponed. According to the Post, it’s still unclear whether the show will be held in 2015 and if Radio City Music Hall would be available.

As the Post reported, one option is that some of the draft could he held in one city and then moved to another.

The Post reported that the league wants to decide on a site for the draft by no later than the fall.

The NFL Draft has been held in New YorK City every year since 1965.
