The 49ers, whose needs at receiver were obvious throughout last season, made a trade today to try to fix that issue, acquiring Stevie Johnson from Buffalo for a conditional 2015 draft pick.
Johnson had his worst season in 2013 while dealing with back, groin and hamstring injuries, but caught passes for 1,000 or more yards every year from 2010-2012.
He was expendable in Buffalo once the Bills made the move to get Sammy Watkins.
Johnson had eight receptions in 12 targets in that game for 115 yards, the only time he has played against Seattle.
Here’s a good recap of what this move means for the 49ers.
