Seahawks second-round pick Britt signs rookie contract

Seahawks second-round pick Justin Britt, a right tackle from Missouri, revealed earlier today via Twitter that he has signed his rookie contract.

Under terms of the NFL labor agreement, Britt is due a signing bonus of $834,132 for being the 64th overall pick, taken with the last pick of the second round, and the standard four-year contract worth an estimated total of $3.456 million.

Britt is the sixth of Seattle’s nine draft picks to sign. Those yet to sign are fourth-round WR Kevin Norwood, fourth-round LB Kevin Pierre-Louis and sixth-round OL Garrett Scott.

Britt’s signing also gives Seattle 86 players under contract — teams can have a max of 90.

Britt played right tackle during the team’s rookie mini-camp last weekend and is expected to compete with second-year player Michael Bowie for the starting job there this fall.
