Seahawks, Richard Sherman collect awards at ESPYs

The Seahawks collected some more hardware on Wednesday: They were voted best team during the 22nd ESPYs in Los Angeles. The Seahawks rolled through the 2013 regular season with a 13-3 record, then left a lasting mark in the Super Bowl when they shut down Peyton Manning and the Denver Broncos in a 43-8 blowout.

The Seahawks beat out the Red Sox, Spurs, Kings and Florida State Seminoles for the award.

Cornerback Richard Sherman claimed his own award when he was named the best breakthrough athlete. Sherman had eight interceptions for the second straight year and was named an All-Pro. But Sherman undoubtedly elevated himself to another level with his much-discussed interview with Erin Andrews after the NFC title game.
