Friday links: Seahawks training camp now a week away

It all begins a week from today, as the Seahawks will officially begin training camp in defense of their Super Bowl title — a phrase I imagine still sounds magical to fans — next Friday morning.

We will have tons of coverage of camp once it does begin, and I’ll continue our Countdown to Camp series of questions about the Seahawks as practice nears for the rest of the week.

For now, a few links. …

— The Seahawks were honored and slimed at the Nickelodeon Kids’ Choice Sports Awards last night.

— It was also announced that Walter Jones’ son will present him at the Hall of Fame induction ceremonies next month.

— A reminder that Richard Sherman’s celebrity softball game is Sunday.

— The Sports Network offers a brief training camp preview.

Ricardo Lockette and DeShawn Shead showed off the Lombardi Trophy in Spokane.

— The Niners showed off their new stadium yesterday. The Seahawks will be there on Thanksgiving night.

— Do Pete Carroll’s rules make sense in the business world?

— The NFL Draft is headed to Los Angeles or Chicago in 2015.

— ProFootballFocus continues its position progression series with a look at safeties (with Earl Thomas getting a menti0n).

— Boston.com says every NFL team this year is gearing up to stop the Seahawks.

— A good paragraph in this story on how Seattle shut down Denver in the Super Bowl:

Seattle cut off Denver’s quick slant and short routes in the Super Bowl, which gave the Seahawks that extra split second to get a rusher in Manning’s face — and that didn’t fare well for Manning. It will be interesting to see if the rest of the NFL tries the same strategy this season — take away his initial reads and bring pressure up the middle.

— Finally, a couple of responses from Denver’s Chris Harris to what Bobby Wagner had to say the other day:
