Seahawks Daily Top 10: Marshawn Lynch returns, and more?

So could there be more news on this day than the return of Marshawn Lynch?

We’ll see as we get into today’s Seahawks Top 10:

1, Here’s my story on Lynch’s decision to end his holdout, attempting to put it all into perspective. One note worth highlighting — the fines he incurred during his holdout are at team discretion, and as such the Seahawks don’t have to levy them. As the story notes, some reports indicate the Seahawks will waive them all. But that’s not necessarily thought to be completely all sorted out.Regardless, the bigger issue is that his holdout is now over. We may not hear from Lynch anytime soon, but we should hear from coach Pete Carroll on Friday. Seattle’s issues now revolve mostly around the more mundane issue of injuries — specifically, getting back the likes of Russell Okung, Kam Chancellor, Bruce Irvin, Malcolm Smith, etc. No reason to think they won’t return, and the track record under the current administration can’t really be questioned for getting guys ready to play. But I thinkĀ  everyone will breathe a little easier as each guy returns.

2, Here’s our notebook with the sobering news about Jesse Williams potentially — and likely — needing another knee surgery. Tough luck for a good guy who also looked to potentially have a key role on the line this season.

3, And here’s our Day Six training camp glance with lots of news and notes.

4, NFL.com wonders about a question that has been floated a lot in these parts — that this could be Lynch’s last season in Seattle and is why he was angling for a new deal. As we’ve noted often here, the team couldĀ  save $7.5 million on the cap in 2015 by releasing Lynch. Also included is a video that reports that Lynch wanted to be paid like a top three running back in the NFL. That obviously didn’t end up happening.

5, The Associated Press with a look at the emergence of Byron Maxwell over the past year.

6, Fun to see former Seahawk Dave Wyman writing some stories for Seahawks.com. This one is on Percy Harvin and his kick returning.

7, New Golden State coach Steve Kerr checked in on Seattle’s practice earlier this week.

8, Despite some noted Twitter back-and-forth, Arizona cornerback Patrick Peterson insists he’s just having some fun with Seattle’s Richard Sherman.

9, UW fans might like this — a pretty darn detailed look at Jake Locker from Pro Football Focus.

10, Brady Quinn, this time a Seahawks backup QB, now becoming an analyst.
