Marshawn Lynch among Seattle Seahawks sitting out tonight

There are 17 Seahawks not expected to play when the team opens preseason action tonight at Denver.

Most are not here, including running back Marshawn Lynch.

All are not playing due to either injury or simply precautionary reasons — or in Lynch’s case because he showed up to training camp a week ago today and is not yet in football shape according to coach Pete Carroll.

The others who will sit it out tonight are: WR David Gilreath, S Kam Chancellor, CB Akeem Auguste, S Eric Pinkins, LB Mike Taylor, LB Bruce Irvin, LB Malcolm Smith, LB Bobby Wagner, LB Kevin Pierre-Louis, LB Korey Toomer, C Max Unger, DT Jimmy Staten, OL Russell Okung, OL James Carpenter, WR Kevin Norwood and DT Jordan Hill.

With Unger, Carpenter and Okung out, the team will have a different left side of the night tonight. Expect Lemuel Jeanpierre to start at center with Caylin Hauptmann at left guard and Alvin Bailey at left tackle.

And with Wagner out, Brock Coyle will indeed get the start at middle linebacker.

And with Lynch out, expect Robert Turbin to get the start at tailback as he has been listed on the depth chart behind Lynch and ahead of Christine Michael throughout camp.
