As might be expected of a defending Super Bowl champion team, the first preseason appearance for the Seattle Seahawks drew a big TV audience locally.
Aaron Levine of Q13Fox, which televised the game, said via Twitter that the preliminary ratings show that Seattle’s 21-16 loss to Denver Thursday night had a 24.6 rating in the Sea-Tac market, drawing more than a half-million viewers.

He further Tweeted that the Seattle Mariners game, telecast on cable’s Root Sports at roughly the same time, did “about” a 4.3 by comparison.
The TV rating for the Seahawks preseason opener is slightly better than last year’s against San Diego, which had a 21 rating.
