Seahawks’ Marshawn Lynch cleared

Seahawks running back Marshawn Lynch was cleared Wednesday night by the Bellevue Police Department of allegations of assault and personal property damage.

The BDP had said Monday it was investigating Lynch in connection with an incident alleged to have occurred at 2:30 a.m. Sunday.

The statement from the BPD Wednesday night read:The Bellevue Police Department has determined that Marshawn Lynch was not involved in this incident in any way. This case remains an open and active investigation. We appreciate the cooperation we have received from Mr. Lynch and the Seahawks organization during this investigation.”

The Seahawks on Tuesday had called the allegations “bogus’’ in its own statement.

The Seahawks were in training camp on the night of the incident. During camp, players are sequestered at hotels and given curfews with security guards manning the floors.

Lynch, 28, held out the first week of training camp but returned on July 31.

Lynch did not play last Thursday against Denver but could see action Friday against the Chargers.

Bellevue Police Department spokesman Seth Tyler had said on Tuesday that the case was a “high priority’’ for the department and that it hoped to reach a “quick resolution.’’
