Steve Ballmer wins golf shootout with Fred Couples, Seahawks players

There was a fun exercise after Seahawks practice today as Steve Ballmer, Fred Couples and a few Seahawks players participated in a golf challenge to promote the Boeing Classic. Each got three shots to hit a floating green in Lake Washington maybe 90 yards off the shore of the practice facility.

Ballmer and Couples were tied after the initial round, with Ballmer then beating Couples in the tiebreaker.

The most entertaining moment came when Ballmer hit his first two shots on the green, then scuffed one that hit a GoPro video camera stationed in front of the golfers.

“Three for three,” Ballmer yelled loudly.

Later, told the camera cost $2 billion, Ballmer joked that “that’s the cost of everything these days,” a reference to what he just paid for the NBA’s Clippers.

Seahawks who participated were Steven Hauschka, Jermaine Kearse and Cooper Helfet.

Hauschka, who claims a 5 handicap, was the only one to get one on the green.

“Ballmer’s pretty good,” Hauschka said. “To be able to take out the GoPro was pretty impressive.”

Here’s some raw video of the scene:
