Seahawks reportedly sign OL Andrew McDonald

According to a Tweet from his agent, the Seahawks have signed offensive tackle Andrew McDonald.

No confirmation on this from the team yet.

But if true, he would fill the spot on the 53-man roster created over the weekend with the waiving of receiver Phil Bates.

McDonald had been on the practice squad of the Panthers and had been with the Panthers and Dolphins on their practice squads the past two seasons

McDonald has had an interesting last few years as he was Player A in the report on harassment in the Miami locker room and also  has overcome testicular cancer (each of which are detailed  here and here.

McDonald would give the Seahawks nine offensive linemen again after they put Lemuel Jeanpierre on IR last week due to a neck injury.

The Seahawks also appear to be exploring options in the secondary with Jeremy Lane and Tharold Simon each out for a few games, and as we noted here last night, thought to be working out Keith Lewis.
