The Seahawks are off the field following their Friday practice at the VMAC.
Afterward, coach Pete Carroll met the media for the final time prior to Sunday’s game at San Diego.
Here are the relevant personnel updates:
— Tharold Simon remains out after having knee surgery. Also out are RB Christine Michael and LB Kevin Pierre-Louis, each still struggling with hamstring injuries. “They are not working with the team yet,” Carroll said. “So next week will be their first chance to do that.”
— Carroll said WR Kevin Norwood had a good week of practice and is “in great shape. … he’s really competing to get on the gameday roster. He just looks really good, doing everything. So we have no hesitation to put him in there if we can get that done.”
— Carroll said CB Josh Thomas, signed earlier this week, is available to play but is “kind of in emergency status. That’s all we could possibly get done in a week’s time. So he is ready to play if we need him but he needs work with us. Our style of play and the things we ask of him are different than he’s been asked before so he’s got a lot of ground to make up.”
— Carroll said TE Cooper Helfet has “practiced the last couple of days and did a nice job. So he is eligible to be up now physically (on the gameday roster) so we’ll see what happens on gameday.”
— Carroll said LB/DE Bruce Irvin had “a terrific week” of practice and will be in the gameplan fully this week.
