Antonio Gates’ third touchdown catch puts Seahawks in 27-14 hole

The Chargers put some distance between themselves and the Seahawks with a time-consuming drive that culminated with a 21-yard, one-handed touchdown catch by Antonio Gates with 3:01 left in the third quarter. The 12-play, 76-yard drive took 6:24 off the clock and was sustained by a penalty on Bruce Irvin. It was Gates’ first three-touchdown game since 2005.

On the drive, Seahawks safety Earl Thomas left the game because of cramps, but he was probable to return.
