Seahawks Daily Top 10: Marshawn Lynch talks, and heading into the bye

We’re back with the Daily Top 10 as the Seahawks head into a bye week. The bye week means there won’t be much, if any, news coming out of the VMAC this week with players scattered and the team officially off again until Monday.  For now, 10 for Tuesday. …

1. If you missed it, running back Marshawn Lynch spent 10 minutes on the ESPN 710 show The Barbershop last night, whose hosts include former Seahawk Marcus Trufant. You can listen to it here. No real news revelations, but an entertaining listen.

2. Here’s my wrapup of what coach Pete Carroll said during his Monday press conference. I also talked to DeShawn Shead Monday about how his after-game proposal on Sunday came to be. As we were talking about the attention it got, Shead stopped at one point and said “I did pretty good on the proposal, huh?” Hard to argue that.

3. Seahawks.com with some of what Carroll had to say Monday about Lynch.

4. FootballOutsiders notes that Denver became the first team to ever tie a game after trailing by eight with less than a minute left. Some more thoughts on the game from FootballOutsiders.

5. A few day-after thoughts from Denver coach John Fox, including that the third-and-long draw play to tight end Virgil Green wasn’t really supposed to happen. And Von Miller graded out as Denver’s top player in the game.

6. ICYMI, Denver’s Chris Harris said after the game that Russell Wilson is better than Andrew Luck.

7. In an ESPN Insider column, Mike Sando addresses that question and says most around the league would still prefer Luck.

8. ESPN’s Terry Blount says the Seahawks still have pass protection issues.

9. Arizona also has a bye this week, meaning the Cardinals will remain ahead of the Seahawks in the NFC West going  into October. Here’s an NFL.com story making the point that Drew Stanton might give the Cardinals the best shot at having a successful season. And here’s another that says the Cardinals can give the Seahawks a real push for the NFC West crown.

10. Finally, recall that Seattle next plays at Washington on Oct. 6. Washington will host the Giants on Thursday Night Football this week.
