Schools: Kamiak High School in Mukilteo (2003), Central Washington University (2008).
Family: Wife Danielle and son Gregory, 8 weeks. Gregory was only 2 weeks old when he watched his first Seahawks game on TV, the opener against Green Bay Sept. 4. “He’s already got a Legion of Boom onesie, along with some other Hawks gear.”
Occupation: Manufacturing engineering at Boeing for 777.
Favorite Seahawks: Max Unger on offense and Kam Chancellor on defense.
Seahawks fan for: “Since I could breathe oxygen. My father raised me a Seahawks fan. Me, my dad (Greg) and my brother (Luke) remember going to Hawks games at the Kingdome together.”
Favorite Seahawks moment: The Beastquake playoff game against the Saints was amazing. I was jumping up and down and hugging just about everyone in our section. But my greatest moment was winning the Super Bowl last February. That was the same day we announced to our family that we were pregnant with little Gregory. We had a big Super Bowl party at our house, and about an hour before the game, my wife stood up and told everyone.”
Fast facts: Sam was all-conference and Star Times all-area for Kamiak and a 6-foot-1, 290-pound all-conference center at Central Washington University, At CWU, he snapped the ball to Mike Reilly, who got a free-agent tryout with the Seahawks and now plays for the CFL’s Edmonton Eskimos … Sam, who wears his personalized No. 55 Seahawks jersey proudly, also coached under his former high-school coach, Dan Mack, for four years at Kamiak.
Prediction: Seahawks, 28-13. “I think we’ll get back to our basics, running the rock, playing smash-mouth football and defense. We’ll get back to what the Seahawks do best.”
