Seahawks inactives: LT Russell Okung tops a pretty star-studded list

Left tackle Russell Okung tops a pretty star-studded list of inactive players for the Seahawks against Oakland today.

Okung was listed as questionable with a calf injury apparently sustained in practice this week. Okung practiced earlier in the week before being out on Friday.

The other inactives were the six Seahawks who had been listed as out on Friday: TE Zach Miller, LB Bobby Wagner, LB Malcolm Smith, DT Jordan Hill, CB Byron Maxwell and S Jeron Johnson.

With Okung out, look for second-year player Alvin Bailey to get the start. Bailey has never started a game in the regular season though he was technically listed as a starter for the Super Bowl when Seattle began with a six-linemen set.

The listed backup behind Bailey at LT is Andrew McDonald, who was signed in September.

The list of actives includes Kam Chancellor, who is also quesitonable with a groin injury.  But being active doesn’t guarantee Chancellor willl play, so we’ll see how that unfolds. Chancellor’s backup is Johnson, one of the inactives, so Terrance Parks, promoted from the practice squad on Saturday, could have to play depending on how things go. DeShawn Shead could also get the start there if Chancellor can’t go. Steven Terrell is also healthy.

Also still worth watching is the center spot, where Max Unger and Stephen Schilling are each questionable, but also active.

Inactive for the Raiders are TE David Ausberry, OL Tony Bergstrom, WR Vincent Brown, CB Chimidi Chekwa, CB Keith McGill, QB Matt McGloin and CB Carlos Rogers.
