Seattle’s list of in actives for Sunday’s game against the New York Giants includes safety Kam Chancellor and guard James Carpenter.
Chancellor will miss his second straight game with a groin injury suffered in practice prior to last week’s game against the Raiders. Chancellor did a brief workout on the field Sunday but obviously was deemed not ready to return. Jeron Johnson will start in his place, the first start of Johnson’s four-year career.
Carpenter will sit out with a sprained ankle suffered last week against the Raiders. Alvin Bailey, who started last week at left tackle in place of Russell Okung, will start at left guard this week in place of Carpenter.
The other in actives were TE Zach Miller, LB Bobby Wagner, LB Malcolm Smith, S Steven Terrell, and newly-acquired tight end Tony Moeaki.
Miller and Thomas had each been ruled out earlier in the week with injuries that have had the sidelined for a while. Miller has not played since week three against the Broncos after having ankle surgery wile Wagner has been out since the Dallas gam Oct. 12 with a toe injury. Smith will also miss his second straight game with a groin injury suffered at Carolina.
Terrell and Moeaki are healthy inactives as Seattle gets the game day roster to 46.
That means CB Byron Maxwell will be active for the first time since the Dallas game.
Here are the Giants’ inactives which include leading rusher Rashaad Jennings, who did not make the trip.
