Earl Thomas on the NFL Network on Marshawn Lynch, the Legion of Boom and more

Seahawks safety Earl Thomas appeared on NFL Network’s NFL Total Access today. You can watch it here.

And below are some of Thomas’ quotes from the show:

On if running back Marshawn Lynch will be in a Seahawks uniform next year:

“I’m not sure. I couldn’t tell you that. The one thing that I can tell you is I’m excited he’s in a Seattle uniform now and that he’s running with a purpose and with an energy that we’re feeding off of. I’m excited to be a part of it.”

On if Marshawn Lynch is the key to the offense’s level of consistency to make a run to the Super Bowl:

“I think the combination of Russell Wilson and Marshawn [Lynch] is so potent. I just think it’s about tempo and getting on track. When you talk about they get in that shotgun and Russ is faking the play action and they don’t know if he’s going to hand it off to Marshawn or keep the ball, that puts a lot of stress on the defense. You definitely have to be in good shape playing a Seattle offense because they spread you out and Russell does his trick shift stuff. It’s like he’s playing Pop Warner football; that’s what I enjoy the most, watching football like that because that’s its purest form right there. It’s a kid’s game and Russ plays it just like that.”

On if the Legion of Boom is as strong this year as it was last year:

“I think so because in our mind, we see the game totally different. We’re not making the same mistakes and teams are not attacking us the same either. The thing that I love about our team is we have that mindset of smart football players and we understand situations, and that gives us the ability to adapt every time.”

On if the Seahawks can repeat as Super Bowl champions this year:

“Anything is possible. I don’t even want to speak that type of stuff on this team. I just like where we’re at right now. We’re in a good place, we’re in a good humble place and we understand the process and the day by day. Understanding that every week is different and we’re going to get everybody’s best shot, and everybody is going to get our best shot. We can live with that.”
