Seahawks re-sign LB Allen Bradford to fill out 53-man roster

The Seahawks made a flurry of roster moves again today, with the key one noted in the blog post below — the placing of tight end Zach Miller on Injured Reserve.

To take his spot on the 53-man roster, the Seahawks have re-signed linebacker Allen Bradford, who was on Seattle’s initial 53-man roster last season before being released and later playing for the Giants and Jacksonville.

Bradford was also on Seattle’s practice squad the first week of this season before being released. He had most recently been with the Cleveland Browns and said he was a Toys R Us with his daughter when the Seahawks called yesterday. He hopped on an early-morning flight Wednesday and was back in the locker room before practice.

“I’ve just got to just be ready and go out there and do what I do,” Bradford said.

Bradford said he expects to play on special teams Sunday at Kansas City and will also get a refresher on the middle linebacker spot. Seattle may need some depth with Bobby Wagner likely still out and Brock Coyle a little”bagged up” in the words of Seattle coach Pete Carroll.

“I really just want to make the most of this opportunity because they only come every so often,” Bradford said.

Here’s some video of Carroll’s opening statement today:
