Center Max Unger, who had just come back from injury last week, was taken off the field in a cart after a leg injury suffered in the fourth quarter. The team announced he was doubtful to return.

Unger was hurt during a 5-yard run by Marshawn Lynch that went to the Kansas City 4.

The injury during a crucial series for the Seahawks, who decided to go for it on fourth-and-goal from the Chiefs 2. A fade route intended for Doug Baldwin went incomplete, giving possession to Kansas City with 7:08 left.

The gamble ended up not costing the Seahawks any points as the Chiefs, bogged down by two false-start penalties, did not gain a first down and were forced to punt, giving Seattle good field position at the Kansas City 45 with 6:15 left.
