Seahawks draw to within 14-13 at halftime after fumble recovery

The Seahawks got a break late in the first half when they forced a fumble on a pass play from quarterback Alex Smith to tight end Travis Kelce. As Kelce was attempting to gain a first down to the Kansas City 47, safety Earl Thomas forced the ball out and defensive tackle Jordan Hill came up with the ball at the Kansas City 47 with 54 seconds left. But the Seahawks had to settle for a 27-yard field goal by Steven Hauschka on the final play of the half after they drove to the Kansas City 9. On one of the plays, Jermaine Kearse dropped a pass in the end zone that would have given Seattle the lead.
