Seahawks practice report: Helfet, Lane out again

Tight end Cooper Helfet and cornerback Jeremy Lane, two Seahawks who have been day-to-day all week, didn’t practice on Thursday. Coach Pete Carroll said earlier in the week that Lane was really close to playing last Thursday against the 49ers and that Lane should play this Sunday against the Eagles. Carroll also said Helfet likely wouldn’t practice for a couple days and added that the Seahawks wouldn’t know about his availability until later in the week.

Here’s the full practice report:

Did not practice:

  • Tight end Cooper Helfet (ankle)
  • Center Max Unger (knee/ankle)
  • Cornerback Jeremy Lane (glute)
  • Defensive end Michael Bennett (toe)

Limited participation:

  • Cornerback Byron Maxwell (shin)
  • Running back Marshawn Lynch (back)

Bennett and Maxwell are two new names to the practice report; neither were listed after Wednesday’s practice. It’s worth keeping an eye on, but Bennett has not practiced at other times this season because of a toe injury and still played in games.
