Seahawks Friday morning links and notes: How Bobby Wagner’s speed impacts the defense

Good morning. The Seahawks will be back on the field at the VMAC later this afternoon and then will make the trip east to Philadelphia.

Don’t be surprised if they make a roster move before they go to get to 53 players on the active roster. Seattle has been at 52 all week, but could easily promote a practice squad player for this game. One reality, though, is that Seattle is pretty healthy and will likely end up with some healthy inactives this week when putting together the game day roster of 46. This isn’t like the Raiders game when Seattle didn’t have enough healthy bodies to fill out the 46.

Seattle might have been keeping the spot open this week to see if anyone would become available elsewhere through the league — practice squad promotion can be done at any time as ┬álong as it’s 24 hours prior to kickoff.

Also, make sure you check out Jayson Jenks’ look at how the return of Bobby Wagner’s speed helped revive the Seattle defense.
