Receiver Bryan Walters and cornerback Jeremy Lane are among the seven players who are inactive for the Seahawks today.
Walters was not on the injury report this week so it appears he’s simply a healthy scratch. Seattle will has six active receivers as Chris Matthews, who was promoted to the practice squad on Saturday, is active.
Without Walters, Seattle will have to try other options at punt returner, likely Doug Baldwin, though Richard Sherman and Paul Richardson can also handle those duties.
Lane is battling a gluteus injury and also missed a game against the 49ers on Thanksgiving night. He is typically the team’s starting nickelback. But the Seahawks may do what they did against the 49ers, moving Byron Maxwell inside in the nickel with Tharold Simon coming in to play on the outside. Maxwell would be the starter as the other outside corner in the base defense, but then move inside in the nickel.
The other inactives for Seattle are LB Allen Bradford, C Max Unger, DT , TE Cooper Helfet and TE RaShaun Allen.
Helfet is battling a sprained ankle and was listed as doubtful. Unger had already been ruled out with knee and ankle injuries. The rest are healthy inactives.
