Seahawks get visit from Australian rugby star Jarryd Hayne

Australian rugby star Jarryd Hayne, who is pursuing an NFL career, visited the Seattle Seahawks facility today.

The news was first reported by the National Football Post and confirmed by a league source.

Hayne announced in mid-October he was leaving rugby to come to the United States to pursue football.

He appears to be making the rounds of NFL facilities, reportedly visiting the 49ers earlier this week.

The likely scenario here is that Hayne will hold some workouts and then maybe sign with an NFL team after the season, when rosters can expand from their current 53 (plus practice squad, etc.) to the 90 that is allowed for training camp.

What is also likely is that you will ┬áhear about Hayne visiting lots of other teams. So for now, while it’s interesting that Hayne paid Seattle a visit, I’d hold off anointing him a Seahawk.
