Seahawks injury report: Center Max Unger is doubtful

Cornerback Jeremy Lane (glute) should return to Seattle’s lineup this week, while center Max Unger (ankle/knee) is doubtful to play this week against the 49ers. Defensive lineman Demarcus Dobbs (ankle) is the only Seahawks’ player officially listed as out, although it is unlikely that Unger will be able to play this week.

Tight end Cooper Helfet (ankle) is listed as questionable. Running back Marshawn Lynch (back) joins Lane as being listed as probable on the official injury report.

Lane’s expected return creates an interesting situation for the Seahawks. Cornerback Byron Maxwell has played well in the slot at cornerback, the spot where Lane typically plays, when the Seahawks have used three cornerbacks. It will be interesting to see if the Seahawks continue using the combination of Maxwell-Tharold Simon or if Lane will assume his previous duties at nickel cornerback.
