Seahawks injury report: TE Tony Moeaki a game-time decision; five others return

The Seahawks don’t have many injury question marks heading into Saturday’s playoff game against the Panthers, but one question mark they do have is with tight end Tony Moeaki, who injured his calf earlier this week and will be a game-time decision.

But the Seahawks return five players who had to sit out the season finale because of injuries: wide receiver Jermaine Kearse (hamstring), center Max Unger (knee/ankle), tight end Cooper Helfet (ribs), cornerback Tharold Simon (shoulder) and defensive end Demarcus Dobbs (ankle) all should play this week against the Panthers.

If Moeaki can’t play, the Seahawks will rely on Helfet and Luke Willson to handle the duties at tight end.

The Seahawks will also have Unger back at center this week for just the seventh time this season, and his return gives the Seahawks the most stability they’ve had along the offensive line in weeks.

As a reminder, the Seahawks will also be without defensive tackle Jordan Hill, who was placed on Injured Reserve earlier this week with a calf injury.

Here is the full injury report from Thursday:

Out:

  • Safety Jeron Johnson (elbow)

Full participation in practice:

  • Wide receiver Jermaine Kearse (hamstring)
  • Tight end Cooper Helfet (ribs)
  • Center Max Unger (knee/ankle)
  • Running back Marshawn Lynch (back)
  • Defensive end Demarcus Dobbs (ankle)
  • Cornerback Tharold Simon (shouldeR)
  • Cornerback Byron Maxwell (illness)
  • Defensive end Michael Bennett (non-injury)
