Tony McDaniel fumble recovery sets up Doug Baldwin TD catch

The Seahawks’ defense forced a turnover for the second consecutive possession, and this time Seattle cashed in.

Seahawks defensive end Michael Bennett was in the middle of a botched handoff between Panthers quarterback Cam Newton and running back Jonathan Stewart, who’s having a homecoming this week. The ball was recovered by defensive tackle Tony McDaniel at the Carolina 28 with 2:22 to go in the first quarter. The fumble was credited to Newton. (Watch video of the play here)

It took Seattle four plays to cash in, with quarterback Russell Wilson lofting a 16-yard touchdown pass to Doug Baldwin to give the Seahawks a 7-0 lead with 56 left in the first quarter. (Watch video of the play here)
