Secondary ticket prices rise markedly for NFC Championship game

Where last week the story was that tickets for the Seattle-Carolina game could be had on the secondary market for less than the previous year, this week the story is that ticket prices are rising to levels never seen before in this city.

The web site TiqIQ.com reports this morning that the current average price for a ticket to the Seattle-Green Bay game is a whopping $765.61 and that the get-in price — meaning the lowest-priced ticket available — is $427.

Last year, the average for the Seattle-San Francisco game was $791.40 but the get-in price was $363.

The site also reports that the most expensive ticket currently listed for this game is Charter 134 Row A for $4,100-plus per seat and that there are suites going for as much as $102,000.

  • Below are the average price (get in) for all previous NFC Championship games:
    • 2010: Vikings @ Saints: $744.20 ($355)
    • 2011: Packers @ Bears: $1,157.23 ($267)
    • 2012: Giants @ 49ers: $597.17 ($310)
    • 2013: 49ers @ Falcons: $362.79 ($178)
    • 2014: 49ers @ Seahawks: $791.40 ($363)
  • Below is the average price (get in) for the AFC Championship Game
    • Colts @ Patriots: $501.32 ($252)
