Seahawks defensive coordinator Dan Quinn remaining focused on Seahawks

Seattle defensive coordinator Dan Quinn remains one of the hottest names on the NFL coaching circuit, with reports surfacing this week that he is a leader for the vacancy with the Atlanta Falcons (one report saying that is the job he favors).

When he held his weekly meeting with the media after practice Thursday, however, Quinn said only that he is focused on the Seahawks and this week’s game.

“I had a great time going through the process,” he said of the interviews he had during Seattle’s bye week prior to the Divisional playoff win over Carolina. “What a wonderful opportunity to get to talk to people. But I’m in a great situation and now that we are back here, really the focus is back here on the game, and what a challenge we have for us. So nothing really to report on that front. Real easy to run back to what we are doing here.”

Quinn can not be hired until Seattle’s season has concluded, and that has led to some talk about whether the teams that might be interested in him will be willing to wait if the Seahawks advance to the Super Bowl.

Quinn said today, though, that he is not worried or frustrated about that.

“No certainly not,” he said.”In fact, I’m so fortunate to be part of this organization and being here with this group of guys. I’m having a blast, I really am. So no hard feelings, no disappointment in any way.”
