Right tackle Justin Britt is the big name on the list of Seattle’s inactive players for today’s NFC title game against the Green Bay Packers.
Britt, who has started every game this season at right tackle, is out with a sore knee suffered last week against Carolina.
He will be replaced in the starting lineup by Alvin Bailey, who took many of the practice snaps there this week.
Seattle’s other inactives are B.J. Daniels, SS Jeron Johnson, CB Marcus Burley, G Keavon Milton, DE David King and TE Cooper Helfet.
Helfet has been considered healthy so assuming here this is just a numbers game and he’s behind Luke Willson and Tony Moeaki.
And there had been some thought that Daniels might be active in a special teams role after being promoted to the active roster this week. But that obviously won’t happen.
Also interesting is that Landon Cohen is active for the first time this season with DE David King inactive. They play sort of different roles, with Cohen primarily a nose tackle. Seattle may have felt they needed some depth at that spot with Tony McDaniel missing time in practice this week with a shoulder injury.
Here are Green Bay’s inactives (and a story here breaking down what it means for the Packers — the main thing being that the Packers still have all three QBs active as a hedge against Aaron Rodgers’ calf injury):
#Packers inactives: RB DuJuan Harris CB Demetri Goodson LB Carl Bradford C Garth Gerhart TE Justin Perillo WR Jeff Janis DT Bruce Gaston
