Video: Seahawks coach Pete Carroll says no doubt Earl Thomas will play in the Super Bowl

Seattle coach Pete Carroll said after practice today that if the Super Bowl were held tomorrow, safety Earl Thomas would play.

Thomas did not practice Wednesday and Thursday and was limited today and could be limited next week, as well.

But Carroll said that’s precautionary.

“We’ll keep him from getting banged, but he’ll be fine by gametime,” Carroll said.

Carroll, in fact, answered another question about Thomas missing practice this week saying “it’s over, really. It was two days of him being very uncomfortable and it’s over now. So he was back in action.”

Carroll also said G J.R. Sweezy and OT Justin Britt are on the road to recovery and should be fine by the Super Bowl. Carroll said Sweezy could have practiced all week but was held out just to get the ankle — which he said has lingered much of the season — better.

You can watch the first few minutes of Carroll’s meeting with the media below, including what he said about the Thomas and Sherman injuries:
