Seahawks on their way to Arizona: Let the hype begin

The Seahawks are on their way to Arizona and so are many of us here at The Seattle Times.

We’ll start our on-the-ground and round-the-clock coverage this afternoon when the team arrives and then holds some press conferences at the team hotel. Pete Carroll will speak along with six players, and among those expected to talk are Russell Wilson and Earl Thomas.

It’ll be a similar format Monday with Carroll and six players talking, before things really ratchet up with media day on Tuesday and then availability for the full team Wednesday and Thursday. Then things begin to go the other way as only Carroll will be available Friday and then nothing until after the game Sunday.

So, a big week ahead, but nothing that the Seahawks can’t handle after having gone through it last year.

In fact, the Seahawks are trying to do everything as they did last season, citing the obvious fact that it worked then so why change now? That included getting in much of the heavy work of installing the game plan last week in Seattle and using this week to further hone and refine it.

There will be official NFL pool reports for each team each day with some details of what happens in practice. Otherwise, practices are closed to the media (a couple of national reporters are selected ahead of time to watch and file those reports, including local legend John Clayton of ESPN).

There’s so much out there about the Super Bowl that it’s impossible to link to even a 10th of it. But what I will try to do in this space is link to a few interesting things each day. We’ll also have a ton of coverage with videos and quotes and impressions and just whatever else comes our way.

So check back often.
