Marshawn Lynch at media day: “I’m just here so I won’t get fined.”

1-27 — Marshawn Lynch’s entire media session.

Marshawn Lynch appeared at media day in front of a huge crowd. Many people were expecting him to answer questions to avoid another enormous fine from the NFL. But they would be disappointed. Lynch was there for five minutes and answered questions from an assortment of people, including Deion Sanders and a seven-year-old kid, with the same answer:

“I’m just here so I won’t get fined.”

The exact iterations were different, but the gist of the answers were basically the same – he was only there so he wouldn’t get fined by the NFL. A few questioners were generally angry about the situation. While others, like me, were just there to document the sideshow and move on with life.

Per the Pro Football Writers of Association of America, Lynch talked for 4 minutes, 51 seconds and had the same answer 29 times. The organization said that they will NOT file a complaint about the issue.

Some media members -a  few TV people – did interviews with the empty podium once he exited the stage.

Lynch will have likely have two more availability sessions. I’m guessing the outcome stays the same.

Here’s a pic of throng …
