Seahawks Fan Buzz: ‘SNL’ swings, misses; Church of Football edition

"Saturday Night Live" parodied the Seahawks. We like Richard Sherman making fun of the New York blizzard, but it's not as funny as it could be. (Scroll down for the video)

Sisters and brothers. It’s finally here. Welcome to Super Bowl Sunday, the highest of holidays here in the Church of Football.

The defending champion Seattle Seahawks take on the New England Patriots at 3:30 this afternoon, but we’ve got a special hymn for you: the women of Ancora, a Seattle-based women’s chorus, performing their version of “Hawk-le-lujah!”

We’re particularly fond of the part at about 1:50 when they get to “We shall reign forever and ever.” As it says on Ancora’s website, “The Patriots can’t HANDEL the Hawks!”

Over at Rose Hill Presbyterian in Kirkland, they claim God may be neutral, but we’re not so sure.

Up in Sandy Point (near Bellingham), folks are sure they saw the Seahawks logo in the clouds. Dawnell Pier Fish sent this photo to us via Facebook.

Do you see the logo?

Do you see the logo?

“Wanted to share with you our gorgeous sky last night at Sandy Point. … Like the image of Christ or Virgin Mary in toast or ice formations- we have the Seahawk in the sky. Assuredly a sign from above! Go HAWKS!” Dawnell Fish wrote.

Here at Fan Buzz, we’re not so sure we see what Dawnell sees, but we’ll let you decide.

And speaking of Facebook, join the conversation today over at the Seattle Times page.

Can’t have church without a potluck

What’s a Super Bowl party without guacamole? Up your avocado game with one of these terrific recipes. Here are more tasty food options to make your spread the best ever. Can’t wait to wrap hotdogs in bacon. mmmm. bacon.

Pass the Jell-O shots

But maybe the anticipation of the big game just leaves you wanting a drink. Hey, we’ve got that covered. Check out the amazing Hawk-tails created by local bartenders.

It’s not easy trying to be Beast Mode

Ever since the absolutely hilarious “Conan” show featuring Marshawn Lynch and Rob Gronkowski (below), we’ve been anticipating what the funny folks on the “Saturday Night Live” would do over the weekend.

The Official Fan Buzz review: Meh. It’s got some funny bits, but it misses more than it hits. Here, make your own call.

Comedy duo Key & Peele over at Comedy Central did a little better, but comedy folks seem to struggle with the real bigger-than-life personalities of Richard Sherman and Lynch.  But we do think Beast Mode should try “biscuits and gravy” as his next press conference line.

How do they make the Big 12?

The Seahawks fans at the Russell Investments Center (aka “Zillow Tower”) have made a giant 12 on the side of their building that perfectly lights up the Seattle skyline. Check out how they do it.

Have you made your prediction for the game? Add it here at our interactive page and check out some Seattle celebrity picks.

Can’t get enough Fan Buzz? Wait, there’s more!

In case you missed it, the video of Seahawks running back Marshawn Lynch and the Patriots’ Rob Gronkowski on “Conan” Thursday night is the funniest thing we’ve seen during Super Bowl season here at the Fan Buzz. But this is your official adult-content warning! More from Thursday’s Seahawks Fan Buzz.
