Seahawks promote assistant coach Rocky Seto

The Seahawks announced this afternoon they have promoted assistant coach Rocky Seto to the title of Assistant Head Coach/Defense.

Seto has been the Defensive Passing Game Coordinator the last three seasons after serving in 2010 as defensive quality control coach and in 2011 as defensive backs and safeties coach.

Seto has been a longtime assistant under Pete Carroll, working for all nine of his seasons at USC, including in his final season in 2009 as defensive coordinator, replacing Nick Holt when Holt left for Washington. He previously had been a secondary coach for the Trojans.

Seattle has not had an assistant head coach for defense, but offensive line coach Tom Cable also carries the title of assistant head coach/offense.

The Seahawks are expected to hire a defensive backs coach to replace Kris Richard, who was promoted to defensive coordinator.
