Devotion to boating in South Lake Union

I continue to discover all this world of boating that is so unique to Seattle. I’ve taken a ride on a Stabi Craft fishing boat, rowed in a 2x wherry, and gone inside a $3.2 million fishing yatch.
Today I expanded my horizons checking out a $7.9 millon yatch at at the Boats Afloat Show in Lake Union. I also met Andrew Cosgreave, a native South African who goes around the world –he’s off to Monaco next– selling boats like the 143-foot Devotion, the biggest one at the show. It can accomodate 12 guests and 8 crew.
Now that I can check off the high-end yatchs from my list, I may look into the kayaking experience. Something tells me that kayaking may be the best fit for me.
If you go
The Boats Afloat Show, with more than 200 boats, runs through Sunday in South Lake Union. It’s open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. daily.
