If you’re looking for a warm place and free entertainment during these cold December days, you’ll find both at the Seattle Center. Through Dec. 31, the Winterfest program is full of fun things to do.
This morning I was immediately drawn to the music coming from the stage at the Center House. The choirs from Issaquah middle schools Beaver Lake and Pine Lake were performing.
The song was the Catalan Christmas carol “Fum, fum, fum,” which, having grown up in Catalan-speaking Barcelona, I happen to know very well. Small world.
They sang it perfectly. “These kids are very disciplined,” said conductor Tina Worthington, glowing with pride. “I just want to pass off my gift of music to my students.”
