Five Seattle locations where I like to take my guests

I was out on vacation for a few days — sorry for dropping out of sight with no warning!
The break was really energizing from a sketching point of view, since I spent time with other sketchers here in Seattle and in Portland, where I attended an urban sketching conference at Pacific Northwest College of Art.
I took my guests to some of my favorite locations in town, which you can see below through the drawings I did.

The monorail at Seattle Center is always a thrill to ride for the first time.

Kerry Park has the most iconic view of the city’s skyline.

Center for Wooden Boats at Lake Union. Seattle is synonymous with boats.

Olympic Sculpture Park: I can’t think of a more relaxing setting for a contemplative moment amid striking pieces of art and panoramic views of the Sound and the city.

The Fremont Troll. You just don’t see a monster under the freeway everyday. My kids loved climbing up the cement sculpture and looking closely at the car in the troll’s hand. “It’s a real one.”
I also took my guests to the Ballard Locks and Pioneer Square but there I didn’t take my pen and sketchbook out.
I’m curious about where other Seattleites may take their out-of-town visitors. What are your top five destinations?
