Sounders FC takes Evan Brown with second pick

Seattle has just selected defender Evan Brown of Wake Forest University with its second-round pick, the first of the round and the 16th overall of the MLS SuperDraft.

Brown, 21, is 5-foot-11 and 165 pounds and hails from Raleigh, N.C. He played in 89 games for the Demon Deacons over his four years with four goals and 15 assists in his collegiate career.

Brown is the fourth defender on Sounders FC’s roster, joining Tyson Wahl, James Riley and the still unsigned Jeff Parke. All three of those players were chosen in the expansion draft last November.
