UW’s Cox to Real Salt Lake (updated 6:50 pm)

Raphael Cox, a midfielder from the UW, was just selected by Real Salt Lake in the fourth and final round of the SuperDraft, the 54th pick overall.

Cox, a 22-year-old Tacoma native, is the second former Husky chosen today, joining midfielder George John. Real Salt Lake’s pick was obtained from Kansas City.

Here’s RSL GM Garth Lagerwey’s take on Cox:

“Raphael’s a left-sided midfielder, and we felt the need to add a true left-sided player to the team during this draft. He’s a very athletic and technical player that will be an exciting addition to the squad.”
