Answering questions

First things first, read all about Wednesday’s practice here. The afternoon was set aside for weight training.

OK, let me give a couple of these a stab. m___s in Wallingford wants to know who is looking good out there. The guy really standing out in the middle of the defense is Taylor Graham. He’s vocal, experienced and savvy, and hasn’t had a bad camp. I think you are right to be concerned, though; there doesn’t seem to be great depth there right now. Brad Evans is playing well as the center midfielder who is directing traffic. He might not be the attacker that Osvaldo Alonso or Freddie Ljungberg are but he’s a solid guy to have back there because he knows Sigi Schmid’s system from Columbus.

To me, Fredy Montero is the star of camp right now. The kid can do so much with the ball and is hard to contain. James Riley has played well as the right back and is an attacker.

For those wanting to see these guys practice, I have been told that practices are CLOSED to the public. I believe the scrimmage against the Galaxy, which will be on one of the fields at the Home Depot Center complex, is also controlled and not for public.

Soccerfan1983 asked about Ljungberg. Read the link above. Update provided.

Las Vegas Genius, my heart says Mexico but my mind goes with the States in Columbus next week. Looks like the weather will resemble more Seattle than a Midwest winter night that day, but U.S. owns CONCACAF. Sorry, not much of an analysis. The rivalry is so much more about emotion for me than the technical aspect of the game.

eatond: Rave green. The practice jerseys are the same color as the home game jerseys. I will say this…I was a bit lost when trying to find practice on Tuesday and all it took was one glimpse of a jersey and I knew where I was.

LOVE the Junior Garcia talk. I agree with those who said this kid deserves a shot somewhere higher than PDL.

OK, as Eric the Midget would say…bye for now.
