Sounders win, Sounders win

3-1 was the final from the Home Depot Center, or rather a muddy field near the big stadium.

You can read the recap here. A more detailed one will appear in the Tuesday Times.

Starting lineup is in the recap. The second-half starters were Brown, Danso, Jackson and Scott at defender, Claugherty, O’Brien, Screpis and Nyassi at midfielder and Pore and Levesque at forward with Eylander in goal.

Ten non-injured players did not play and will debut vs. Shandong Luneng tomorrow in Ventura.

I will be on my way back to Seattle tomorrow.

Coming up tonight on the blog…reaction from Nyassi, who had a big game, and a chat with M Peter Vagenas, who was at the game watching his teammates.

Midfielder Khano Smith was not with the team Monday. Coach Sigi Schmid said the team is “working on some things right now that involve a couple of players,” fueling rumors that Smith is on the trading block.
