Following the game vs. Shandong Luneng

You can do so with Matt Gaschk — the only guy I know whose last name ends in four consonants — on the Sounders FC Web site right now.

The game, I was informed, was moved from Oxnard College to Ventura College. The stadium at Oxnard is a grass surface and probably was in poor shape from the rains down south, and the Ventura surface is field turf.

I’m expecting a more detailed report at the end of the game which I will post. It’s nice to be home, but I wish I was at these games.

New topic: Vegas Genius asked how much stock we should put in the first exhibition. I say some, because when it comes down to it you have to see how these guys perform in games. Seahawks players, speaking from experience as a guy who covered them, didn’t make the team based on practice performance as much as what they did in exhibition games. There is still a long way to go and a lot of games to play and much for the coaches to digest and analyze, but I can see from one game that there are guys that are going to make an impact this season. BTW — never heard of Sharkee’s and I do like In n’ Out, but they are all over CA and AZ and Vegas and Tommy’s is more local. At least that I can tell. We can go on forever about food, that’s for sure.

Keep the questions and comments coming. And again, this is a very knowledgeable base of readers that I’m happy to serve. You are all helping me as much as I’m helping you.
