Seattle has apparently waived defender Mamadou Danso, whom the team had in training camp for a day just before it left for California. I guess MLS has a waiver process.
Danso, according to this report in Kyle Sheldon’s “Behind the Badge” blog, is now with D.C. United. Sounders FC has yet to confirm the transaction. Danso was expected to rejoin Seattle when it returns from exhibition games in California.
That puts the roster at 32 players, not including Jeff Parke. I don’t know anything about why he chose not to come to Seattle. I did talk to him when he first came out here, soon after the expansion draft, and I know Taylor Graham, his good friend, was really lobbying Parke to sign with Sounders FC but Parke chose to try his luck in Europe with a couple of tryouts there. Looks like those didn’t pan out.
