Audio from today’s reserve game

I spoke to both Kevin Forrest and Steve Zakuani after the game today. Sounders FC scored three goals in the second half to shut out the Seattle Wolves. I saw the three goals but there might have been one before I got there so the score was either 3-0 or 4-0.

Anyway, Forrest is a local guy from Edmonds and the UW who is trying to make the roster. He’s been released by the Colorado Rapids. He scored a goal in the 60th minute Friday. He could be a develpmental player, but he also said he is considering other options if he doesn’t like his situation in Seattle. One of those is with the USL’s Minnesota Thunder.

Zakuani played about 55 to 60 minutes of the game after only being expected to play a half. He’s coming off an ankle sprain that turned out to be more than that, hence the three weeks to return. Zakuani looked OK running out on the field but said he’s at “85 to 90 percent.”

Here’s a photo of Forrest after practice…scroll down for audio.
