Otherwise known as Sounders FC defender James Riley. I hadn’t spoken to him since he told me that his nickname is “Giggles.” Where are the chants people? You saving them for the game or what?
Anyway, Riley said that the players would like to see the field watered down a bit before games — it wasn’t on Thursday night — because it plays a little slow when dry until it starts to get naturally dewy.
Riley, who knows football stadiums having played in Gillette Stadium for the New England Revolution, said he felt fine going a full 90 minutes. I asked him about playing in front of a big crowd.
“They’ll definitely bring a 12th man aspect for sure,” he said. “So definitely looking forward to that.”
